![]() SCP-3000 is typically a sedentary creature, only moving its head in response to certain stimuli or during feeding. The head of SCP-3000 measures roughly 2.5m in diameter, and sections of the body proper are as large as 10m in diameter. The full length of SCP-3000 is impossible to determine, but is hypothesized to be between 600 and 900 kilometers. Under no circumstances should any individual interact with SCP-3000 without authorization.ĭescription: SCP-3000 is a massive, aquatic, serpentine entity strongly resembling a giant moray eel ( Gymnothorax javanicus). Individuals who leave the vessel without proper authorization are to be considered lost. Individuals stationed aboard the SCPF Eremita are not permitted to leave the vessel except for the purposes of carrying out the necessary procedures of the Atzak Protocol. There is currently no known cure for exposure to SCP-3000 as such, affected individuals should be contained and quarantined for further evaluation. For a full description of the Atzak Protocol, see Addendum 3000.2. The Eremita is tasked with carrying out the Atzak Protocol, and staffing regulations onboard the vessel are subject to the guidelines of that protocol. The Foundation submarine SCPF Eremita is to monitor the location of the foremost section of SCP-3000, currently located within the Ganges Fan, roughly 0.7km beneath the Bay. Individuals affected by the anomalous properties of SCP-3000 are to be held in containment indefinitely. Individuals believed to have contacted SCP-3000 are to be contained, quarantined, and processed at Site-151. Under no circumstances are civilians allowed to attempt deep sea exploration or diving efforts in the quarantined area. Special Containment Procedures: The area containing SCP-3000, currently a region of the Bay of Bengal roughly 300km in diameter, is to be routinely patrolled by Foundation naval vessels. ![]() In 2016, Yong Ping made an even larger serpent measuring 240 metres (790 ft) as part of the Monumenta series at the Grand Palais in Paris.SCP-3000 and Foundation diver during Atzak Protocol. He favored the connection of heterogeneous meanings and often addressed the notions of mixing identity and culture. Born in 1954 in Xiamen, China, he lived in France from 1989, where he died in 2019. ![]() Huang Yong Ping was a contemporary artist and was a prominent member of the 1980s Chinese avant-garde movement. The work is produced as part of the 2012 edition of the Estuaire festival and co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund. The shape of the snake joins that of the Saint-Nazaire bridge, visible nearby that of the vertebrae echoes the nearby carrelets ( lift nets). It is intended to be gradually invaded by vegetation and marine fauna. The sculpture is therefore covered and uncovered at each tide: at low tide it is possible to walk around it, but only the head and the top of the vertebrae stick out at high tide. It spreads out over the foreshore area: the serpent's tail is located at the low tide limit, its head at the high tide limit. The work is installed at the tip of the Nez-de-Chien, in Mindin, in the territory of the commune of Saint-Brevin-les-Pins in the French département of Loire-Atlantique, at the limit where the Loire estuary joins the Atlantic Ocean. It represents the skeleton of an immense imaginary sea serpent, whose vertebrae undulate to end in an open mouth. Serpent d'océan is a monumental sculpture made of aluminum, 130 m long in total. Depicting a long sea serpent skeleton, it is installed in the intertidal zone at Saint-Brevin-les-Pins, Loire-Atlantique, France. "Serpent of the Ocean" in French) is a work by artist Huang Yong Ping.
